Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our P&C Association

What is a P&C Association?

A P&C (Parents and Citizens) Association is a school-based organization with a mission to make the school a better place for students to learn. It provides a forum for parents and community members to discuss and decide on ways to improve the school environment, resources, and educational outcomes for all students.

How can I join the P&C?

Joining the P&C is easy! You can become a member by paying a small annual fee (usually $2) and completing a membership form. Forms are available at the school office or at any P&C meeting. Membership gives you voting rights at meetings and the ability to stand for committee positions.

When and where are P&C meetings held?

P&C meetings are typically held twice per term in the school library or via Zoom. Meetings usually start at 6:30 PM and run for approximately 1-1.5 hours. Meeting dates are advertised in the school newsletter, on our social media pages, and on this website's event calendar.

Do I need to volunteer if I join the P&C?

While we always appreciate volunteers, there is no obligation to volunteer when you join the P&C. You can choose your level of involvement based on your availability and interests. Some members simply attend meetings, while others take on more active roles in events or projects.

How does the P&C use the funds it raises?

All funds raised by the P&C are used to benefit the school and its students. Recent projects have included a new playground for our support unit, decodable readers for students learning to read, classroom technology upgrades, and library resources. Spending decisions are made collectively at P&C meetings.
